Colossians 1:16 For by
him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth,
visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or
principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
One
of the best evidences of God is the Bible itself. Considered by
Christians to be inspired by God, the writings of this book prove time
and time again to be accurate and true. Historical details, which were
lost to mankind for hundreds, even thousands, of years, are being
discovered in stunning numbers by archeologists. To date not a single
discovery has been made that contradicts what is written in scripture,
whereas many discoveries support it.
Prophetic
messages are another area of the Bible in which it shows its accuracy.
Hundreds of prophecies were written decades or even centuries
before a particular event and all have come true. The writings
accurately falling into place time and again without error. Only a few
of the prophecies written remain unfulfilled and these all concern the
second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is believed by scholars
however that, by what is written, his coming may be soon. Although,
’no man may know the day nor the hour’
(Matthew
25:13)
we are
given signs so that we might know the season of His coming
(Luke
21:31).
Throughout the Bible we also
see a common theme, which is God reaching out to man time and again in
order to guide them into a path of righteousness. He has shown us love
and patience, and He has shown us great discipline. All of this in an
effort to bring mankind to Him. For He does not impose his will upon us,
nor does He coerce us into His worship but rather He waits for us to
decide whether or not we should have faith in, and love for, the creator
of all that is.
Probably one of the most interesting facts about this amazing
book called the Bible is that is was written over a period of one and a
half thousand years on three continents
(Europe,
Africa, and Asia), in
three languages
(Hebrew,
classical Koine Greek, Aramaic),
by about 40 authors including non-Christian Jews (Old
Testament), Jewish
Christians (e.g.: Paul) and Gentile Christians
(e.g.: probably
Luke),
most of whom did not know each other or know of each others’ writings.
It included writings by a political leader (Moses), fisherman (Luke),
herdsman (Amos), military general (Joshua), prime minister (Daniel),
physician (Luke), king (Solomon, David), rabbi and tent maker (Paul).
Yet still, there is a consistent set of goals and purposes: to unite men
with God forever.

In
Luke 21:33 Jesus says, ”Heaven
and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.”
I believe that there is a message from God and that it
exists with us still; our only decision now is to decide where best to
find these scriptures. Do we look to a manuscript, which could only be
authored by divine hands, or to works whose sources are, at best,
questionable?
